Providers are often tasked with using data to improve efficiencies and outcomes. One process underway for several years—known as the HITECH Act—is modernizing the delivery of healthcare and making delivery more efficient with IT solutions. This process is estimated to save the healthcare industry almost $200 billion over the next 10 years. One opportunity for hospitals to apply this process is in the integration of the surgical services suite, which includes interventional hybrid OR, integrated OR, and intraoperative iCT/iMRI. Providing real-time information into surgeons’ hands—through data management or high-end imaging—decreases OR time and improves outcomes. These are key concepts of the current mandates to provide quality and value.
